For our next unit, we are going to veer off of the textbook and examine ancient Chinese history. To get your mind in that frame, I want you to do a little pre-research and compilation. Using the internet and any books in the library will be enough to get this small project for Monday. Details below.
Criteria
1. Create a chart for the Qin and Han dynasties. You should include at least
- major dates (timeline)
- major rulers
- major achievements
- cause and effect descriptions (again, focusing on the major)
2. Make it look pretty. Be creative as you can to represent this information for easy consumption and learning. If you want to see some pretty cool charts, here’s some by Karl Hartig.
3. Technical stuff:
- A4 paper
- Handwritten OR typed, not both
- Use simple statements
- Use graphics to help organize the info in a creative way.
4. Where to get information?
- Wikipedia is a great place to START, but not to finish. Use it as a jumping off place so that you know what to research.
5. How much time should you spend on this?
- Enough time to do a good job, but not so much time that your weekend is dedicated to this. Don’t do that. Try to work efficiently.
- Feel free to work with someone on this, but you must submit your own, original work.
