Your first paper is due in just over a week. I’ve decided to adjust the due date from Aug. 20 to August 25, to give you a weekend to put the final touches on it. You can download the template here (Calibri version | Times New Roman version). Here’s a rundown of the requirements though. Pay close attention, as I adjusted the format as well so that you have a little more space. Update: Here is the template in Word 2003 .doc for those that don’t have 2007.
Directions:
- Write a 1 1/2 to 2 page paper detailing the Christian and an opposing belief on the five worldview questions presented in class and discussed on the blog.
- Each question should be answered for both perspectives, one of the perspectives, if possible, should be your own. However, do not use words like “I believe”. Write it from a third-person perspective, i.e., “Christians believe…” “Atheists believe…”
- Make sure to not go over the space limit. You will need to edit down your sentences to fit within a single, well-written paragraph.
- If the grammar is extremely poor, I will not accept it. Please pay close attention to your grammar. Have someone look over the paper for you after you’ve done all of your corrections.
- This paper is pass/fail.
Paper Format:
- The margins are now 0.5 in for the top and 0.75 in for all other sides.
- Your given name and family name should be in the upper right hand corner. The class, Humanities Survey, goes directly below that. And finally the date the paper is due below that. The paper is due Aug. 25, 2009.
- Center the following title with paragraph margin at 10pt before, “My Worldview Contrasted”. The title should be size 14 font, Calibri or TNR and bold.
- Align the questions as headings to the left at size 12 font bold with paragraph margin at 10pt before.
- Align the subheadings (Christian Perspective or Opposing Perspective) to the left at size 11 font italicized with paragraph margin at 10pt before.
- Align each paragraph justified with no indent.
Or better yet, you can download the template here (Calibri version | Times New Roman version).
