House Chapel

Our first House Chapel will be on Thursday, November 26th.  Thank you to Mr. Arif and Mr. Brammer for giving up their speaking days to accommodate.

For House Chapel there are a few things that each House will need to accomplish:

  • Choose a specific location.  This should be the House Common Room, however some Houses meet on the grass or other locations for certain events.  Out of fairness to all Houses, no House may use the MFR that day.
  • Recruit your musicians.  The idea behind House Chapel is to have a smaller, more intimate worship experience.  That includes music.  In general, the music should be one or two students leading on piano or guitar.  Because we have limited instruments, please send Mr. Brammer your reservation of an instrument as soon as you know what you’ll need.  They will be reserved on a “first come, first served” basis and will be distributed equally amongst the Houses.  If you have your own instruments that could be used, please do so.
  • Recruit your speaker.  Speakers can be within House, from another House, someone from the Admin or Staff, a teacher or a student.  It may be someone from outside of SPH.  However, if your House goes this route, the speaker will have to meet with Mr. Brammer prior to speaking to insure their message aligns with the school’s mission and vision.  Senior school students are encouraged to be speakers at House Chapel.  The House leaders should help the students develop a sound, biblical message.  If they need any study resources, Pak John and Mr. Brammer have an abundance that can be used; as well as the many resources we have in the library.
  • Please submit your speaker name to Mr. Brammer by Nov. 18th, one week before the Chapel.
